Catherine H. Millman, known as Cappy to everyone, passed away on August 3rd at the age of 92 at her daughters home on Long Island, NY. She was predeceased by her husband Lester and her son David. She is survived by her daughter’s Roberta Clark and Ivy Kellogg, her son Jeffrey, grandsons Sean Handy and Seth Millman, 2 great-granddaughters, a brother and sister and many nieces and nephews.
Cappy and Lester Millman moved to Flagstaff in 2002 to be near their daughter and grandson, and to be closer to the extensive medical care Mr. Millman needed. After he passed away in 2006, Cappy became a Red Hat Lady. She was also an active volunteer member of the Flagstaff Community Center, where she was affectionately known as “the Soup Lady” as she helped serve patrons of the Senior Nutrition Program.
Cappy moved back to Long Island to live with her older daughter in December, 2015, when her health began to decline. She got to know her young great-grandchildren, as well. Cremation and burial were private; she was laid to rest at the Flagstaff City Cemetary in the Veteran’s section, next to her beloved husband of 57 years, Lester. Memorial donation may be made to the charity of choice.
